#1 OF 7 - INTRO GUIDE TO BALANCE

To us, balance isn’t a destination, but a practice. We recommend you don’t seek to achieve balance, but practice adjusting your wobble as if you’re on a bike. You know this intuitively - you just need a little permission to wobble the other way sometimes. It all starts with learning about your energy.

How can I tell if I’m using too much energy?

Your daily schedule is combined with both energy enhancers that create energy and energy zappers that use up energy. The practice of balance is based on this premise. If you use too much energy, the world works miraculously to give you the messages that you need to wobble the other way…

These messages show up as symptoms (or signals) within your body, mind, and environment. These indicators are asking you to adjust your mind, body, or schedule!

As children, we were often taught to prioritize external stimuli. Instead, we encourage you to turn inward and listen to your body and mind. By doing so, you can reconnect with your innate ability to recognize these internal/ external signals:

  • Mental: mental activity such thoughts, emotions, focus and attention

  • Physical: physical feelings such as thirst, hunger, lethargy, discomfort

  • Environment: anything taking place outside of the body - spaces, places, people, animals and things

SOLO ACTIVITY: Notice one area today that doesn't/didn't feel good. Examples include:

  • Mental: negative emotions, frustrations...

  • Physical: discomfort in your back, shoulders, jaw, head, feet...

  • Environmental: other people, animals, your surroundings
