#2 What are examples of imbalance?

#2 OF 7 - INTRO GUIDE TO BALANCE

Signals of imbalance reveal themselves mentally, physically, or in our environment.

Some short-term signals of balance and health are noted below, but longer-term signals may show up as burnout, weight-gain, relationship breakdowns, or dis-ease. These are a product of practiced behaviors over time.

Physical signals of tension

  • low endurance, tired, weight changes

  • yellow urine, thirsty, bloating, irregularity

  • weak nails, hair, teeth

  • headache, pain or stiffness in hip, neck, shoulders, back, tense muscles just asking for a massage

  • heart murmur, lip biting, eye twitching, itchy, breakouts, blushing

  • discomfort, pain

Mental signals of tension

  • anxious, ashamed, guilty, lonely, inadequate, self-conscious, inferior

  • frustrated, impatient, short, angry, annoyed, superior, defensive, offended

  • worried, disappointed, regretful, bored, depressed, stuck

  • jealous, hurt, betrayed, abandoned

  • feeling snappy, mind asking for time out, clumsiness

Environmental signals of tension

  • clutter, disorganization, messes

  • relationships

  • pets

  • finances

SIGNALS ARE A GIFT

These signals are happening all day, every day. DayBalancer’s “Complaint Therapy” class shares how every complaint is a gift waiting to be opened... to become more of a match to yourself 💗

SOLO ACTIVITY: Begin to notice certain cues in your body, mind, or environment during this week. To increase awareness, begin jotting down these clues, coming into your awareness throughout the day.

There is no need to change...just notice. Did you have pain in your back and you kept on doing what you were doing - versus taking some time to self care? Were you thirsty and you kept pushing right through it? Did someone get frustrated and your reaction wasn't curiosity? Or did you feel sad/mad and neglected to feel those feelings fully?
